Monza inaugurates square dedicated to Saint Carlo Acutis

Monza inaugurated a new square named after Saint Carlo Acutis on Sunday, October 11. Located between Messa and Giordani streets, the public space serves as a memorial to the young saint who died of leukemia in the city 20 years ago.

The square features granite and porphyry paving, a fountain, and urban furniture. More than 20 types of trees and various shrubs surround the area in flowerbeds.

Mayor Paolo Pilotto stated during the inauguration that the square is a place of memory intended to introduce the figure of Carlo Acutis to new generations. He noted that the saint's life and faith serve as a reference for many young people and carry a civic value that speaks to both believers and non-believers. Acutis died at age 15 on October 12, 2006, at the San Gerardo Hospital in Monza, where some of his relics remain.
