Pope Leo XIV has nominated Reverend Milad Yaghi to serve as the bishop of the Maronite Eparchy of Our Lady of the Martyrs of Lebanon in Mexico. The announcement was made on October 12, 2026, by Archbishop Gabriele Caccia, the apostolic nuncio to the United States.

Yaghi, a member of the Congregation of Maronite Lebanese Missionaries, currently serves as the pastor of Our Lady of the Cedars Maronite Catholic Church in Houston, Texas. He was born in Chlifa, Lebanon, in 1964 and was ordained a priest on July 10, 1988. His previous experience includes serving as an assistant pastor in Metz, France, after earning a master's degree in Catholic theology from the University of Strasbourg.

He succeeds apostolic administrator Father Elie Mikhael, who was appointed to the role by Pope Francis in 2024. The eparchy, which covers all of Mexico, was established in 1995 by St. John Paul II and includes 10 parishes and approximately 200,000 faithful.

The episcopal ordination for Yaghi is scheduled for Tuesday, February 2, 2027, at the Basilica of Our Lady of Lebanon in Harissa.
