Pope Leo XIV meets Circolo San Pietro

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV met with members of the Circolo San Pietro during an audience on Monday, October 12, 2026, at the Apostolic Palace. This marked the first time the pope hosted the association.

The pope thanked the members and volunteers for their work in Rome, which has provided meals, homeless shelters, and housing for families in difficulty since 1869. He described their service as a way of witnessing the Gospel among the poor.

During his address, the pope encouraged the group to use charity to unite the three pillars of their charism: prayer, action, and sacrifice. He stated that prayer serves as the foundation of love and that action becomes effective when it reaches out to neighbors.
