Diocese of Vitoria announces 2027 assembly

The Diocese of Vitoria will hold a diocesan assembly in May 2027 to evaluate how the Synod is being implemented within the local Church.

Vicary General Carlos García Llata announced the assembly in a letter to the faithful to outline the pastoral year. The assembly aims to identify the specific characteristics of a missionary synodal Church and the new paths of synodality emerging in the community following the 2021–2024 Synod.

Participants will review the progress made since the conclusion of the Synod to determine how these developments can benefit other churches and the Pope. As a result of the meeting, the diocese plans to write a letter to other churches explaining what has been learned and the steps taken during this process.
