Pope Leo XIV completed a four-day apostolic journey to France that included stops in Paris, Lourdes, and Metz. The visit concluded on September 28, 2026, with the pope celebrating Mass at the Metz Cathedral.

The bishops' conference released a message describing the visit as an immense grace for the Church and the country. The bishops noted that the pope acted as a pastor and pilgrim, helping to strengthen faith and hope among the crowds.

The bishops' statement also addressed current national tensions, suggesting that the memory of the visit should help people become builders of peace. During the trip, the pope held events at the Stade de France, Lourdes, and Metz.
