Diocese of Santarém promotes art encounter

The Cartaxo Pastoral Unit will host the third session of its art project at the Vale da Pedra Parish Church on September 27 at 17:00. The meeting, titled Encounter with Art in our Churches, aims to highlight the religious heritage and sacred art within the local communities.

The event includes a presentation of the project, followed by two talks. Father Miguel Ângelo will speak on the faces of a devotion, and Dr. Pedro Gaurim Fernandes will discuss the iconographic evolution of the image of Our Lady of Fatima. Maria Mateus from the Valada Parish will also provide a musical performance.

This session is part of the celebrations for the 31 years since the parish was created. The pastoral unit plans to present this project across various parishes over a period of two to three years to share the history, art, and spirituality of local worship spaces. Produced content will be available on the pastoral unit website at upctx.pt.
