Pope Leo XIV has given assent to the election of Chorbishop Sharbel Maroun as Archbishop of the Maronite Archeparchy of Damascus. Chorbishop Maroun has served as pastor of St. Maron Maronite parish in Minneapolis for over 35 years. He succeeds Archbishop Samir Nassar.

Archbishop Bernard A. Hebda is encouraging the faithful of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and all community members to be 'beacons of light' as the one-year mark of a fatal shooting during an all-school Mass at Annunciation School and Church in Minneapolis approaches. The shooting occurred on August 27, 2025. Archbishop Hebda's message is a call to action for the community to come together and support one another.
