Charlene Angelini leads song at Sheen beatification Mass

Charlene Angelini, the music director at the Cathedral Basilica of SS. Peter and Paul in Philadelphia, served as cantor during the beatification Mass for Fulton Sheen on Sept. 24 in St. Louis. Angelini led singing for 50,000 people in attendance and hundreds more watching via livestream.

Angelini noted that singing toward a black curtain with a camera instead of facing the crowd made the lack of eye contact and personal connection a challenge. The Knights of Columbus Philadelphia Chapter honored her as Woman of the Year during a banquet on Oct. 11 at Twining Hall in Trevose.
