Lasalianos celebrate 75 years in La Estrella

Brothers are celebrating 75 years of presence at the La Estrella monastery in San Asensio. The anniversary marks the arrival of 7 brothers at the site on August 28, 1951, to establish a novitiate.

The brothers originally acquired La Estrella because the previous novitiate at La Salle Enea in Irún could no longer function adequately. During the early years, all activities were centered in a single habitable building known as el Palacio. Since then, the site has served as a formation house for brothers, a meeting place for communities, and a center for pastoral activities and educator training.

The monastery currently operates an educational center for local youth and serves as a residence for a large community of elderly brothers, including a nursing facility.
