Bishop Casimiro leads Diocesan Pastoral Council reflection on Christian initiation and community identity

Bishop Casimiro led a session of the Diocesan Pastoral Council at the Mater Dei Seminary to discuss pastoral action for the Diocese of Segorbe-Castellón de la Plana. The meeting focused on Christian initiation and methods for building more welcoming and missionary communities.

The bishop addressed the challenges facing the diocese and emphasized the importance of remaining united to Christ as the basis for missionary work. He described the council meeting as an expression of synodality, which involves walking together through prayer, listening, and discernment. He noted that while mission is a shared responsibility, individuals participate according to their specific vocations, ministries, and charisms.

A central part of the meeting involved reviewing a draft of the diocesan directory for Christian initiation. The bishop also spoke on the need for effective participation in the life and mission of the Church through shared responsibility and respect for those in pastoral and governing offices.
