Catholic Archbishop in Ghana Prays for Speedy and Complete Recovery of Pope Leo XIV after Lung Surgery

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Archbishop Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle of the Archdiocese of Cape Coast has asked priests, religious, and laypeople in Ghana to pray for the recovery of Pope Leo XIV. The request follows a successful surgery on Tuesday, October 13, to remove a lung nodule.

The Archbishop expressed gratitude for the successful procedure but noted that the Pope is expected to remain in the hospital for several more days for post-operative care. He encouraged the faithful to remember the Pope during personal prayer, Mass, and community liturgical celebrations.

In a statement shared with ACI Africa on Thursday, October 15, Palmer-Buckle asked for the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary to help restore the Pope to full health and strength for his service to the Church.
