Diocese of Phoenix hosts first-ever Communications Summit for nearly 50 parishes

The Diocese of Phoenix Office of Communications held its first Communications Summit on Friday, Oct. 9, at the Diocesan Pastoral Center in downtown Phoenix. The event brought together nearly 100 attendees representing 48 parishes to provide training for pastors, parish staff, and communications personnel.

Participants attended sessions on social media strategies, crisis communications, event promotion, and radical hospitality. The training focused on managing weekly bulletins, overseeing parish websites, and using communication tools such as Flocknote. Attendees also received an update on the new Catholic Sun and toured the diocese's new digital studio.

The summit included presentations from Bishop John Dolan, diocesan Communications Director Brett Meister, Evangelization and Sacramental Life Manager Joyce Coronel, and Grand Canyon Education Chief Marketing Officer Christel Mosby. The day began with Mass celebrated by Fr. Dan McBride and Fr. Don Kline and concluded with a parish roundtable discussion led by Jennifer Ellis.
