Documentary about St. Carlo Acutis premieres at the Vatican

The documentary "Carlo Acutis: The Young Saint" premiered at the Vatican Film Library on Sept. 29. The film features previously unseen home videos and photographs of the life, family, and pilgrimages of Carlo Acutis to Rome, Milan, and Fatima. The release marks the 20th anniversary of his death from leukemia in 2006.

The film includes accounts from his parents, friends, teachers, and priest. Antonia Salzano Acutis, the mother of Carlo Acutis, attended the screening and said his life reminds people that God exists in a world where technology is often idolized.

The documentary will play in Italian theaters from Oct. 15 to 21. It is scheduled for release across Europe starting in November, followed by a premiere in North America, Australia, and South Korea in February 2027.
