Fulton Sheen on Communism

Fulton Sheen’s book, Communism and the Conscience of the West, remains relevant because it explains Marxist philosophy, according to Catholic Exchange. The author notes that the paperback is intended for everyone because many people are unfamiliar with communism.

The bishop was a professor at Catholic University of America for over two decades and wrote 66 books. He became a household name through radio and television, winning an Emmy award for most outstanding television personality. In his writing, Sheen used his expertise in philosophy to show how communism is atheistic and determined to stamp out religion.

Sheen is scheduled to be declared Blessed this week on September 24, 2026, in St. Louis.
