Vatican Journey to France

Pope Leo XIV hears testimonies of catechumens

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV listened to testimonies from members of the Provincial Assembly at the Institut Catholique de Paris. The participants shared the results of work conducted in the Île-de-France region, specifically regarding catechumens who discovered the faith in adulthood.

The testimonies included individuals describing the joy of finding a place within the Church and overcoming fears or the sense of emptiness that can follow baptism. One companion for the new believers stated that her role is not to act as a teacher or a model of virtue, but to help them become disciples of Christ.
