León XIV se operará a menos de un mes de un viaje que el Vaticano no modifica

Pope Leo XIV announced following the Angelus on Sunday that he will undergo surgery to remove a lung nodule. The Pope informed the faithful in St. Peter's Square that doctors detected the nodule in a very early and well-localized stage, and he decided to proceed with the operation following medical advice.

The Vatican has not modified the schedule for the Pope's upcoming apostolic journey to Uruguay, Argentina, and Peru, which is planned for November 6 to 17.

Pilgrims gathered in the square expressed surprise at the news. Julia Chávez requested the Pope's blessing for Peru amid concerns regarding national insecurity.
