Leone XIV a Lourdes prega per la Francia tra l’affetto e la commozione dei pellegrini

Pope Leo XIV visited the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Lourdes to pray for France. During his visit to the Grotto of Massabielle, the pope placed a golden rose, a traditional gift from popes to Marian shrines, and lit a candle. He also touched the rock and drank the sanctuary water.

In his prayer, the pope asked for fraternal harmony and wisdom. He requested that the nation build a peaceful society free from violence and hatred, where citizens can work, start families, and live in tranquility. He specifically asked for support for the poor and most unfortunate.

The pope also prayed for leaders to be wise, generous, and ready to serve the common good. He requested that they promote human rights and global peace while rejecting the logic of war. Additionally, he prayed for families and the faith of the people, asking for increased priestly and religious vocations and for the Church to guide young people through the Gospel toward a just society.
