CEI launches initiatives on Pope Leo XIV's encyclical

The General Secretariat of the Italian Episcopal Conference (CEI) has announced a program of meetings and training sessions for 2026–2027 based on Pope Leo XIV's encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. The program covers various sectors, including youth ministry, communication, child protection, health, integral ecology, and social issues. These activities aim to help local churches navigate changes brought by artificial intelligence while prioritizing human dignity, relationships, and the common good.

The schedule begins on October 1 with Edificare la città, a series of four webinars organized by the National Service for Youth Ministry. This series is designed for diocesan teams, educators, animators, teachers, and pastoral workers to discuss building communities that protect human dignity and relationships. The webinars are scheduled for October 1, 8, 21, and 29, featuring speakers Bruno Bignami, Christian Barone, Alessandra Carenzio, and Samuele Ferrari.

The National Office for Social Problems will also use the encyclical to guide its work on social issues, following the priorities set by the Italian bishops. The encyclical serves as the central theme for all national appointments throughout the pastoral year.
