Pope Leo XIV leads Vigilia with French youth

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV led a vigil with French youth at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis to conclude the first day of his apostolic journey through France. Bishop Étienne Guillet of Saint-Denis welcomed the pope to the stadium, which is located about ten kilometers from the center of Paris.

During his meditation, the pope described the Christian life as a path of holiness. He told the young people that being people of God involves a relationship rather than a possession, which allows for freedom from things that make life feel empty. He stated that holiness requires more than just avoiding evil, as individuals must actively choose the good.
