Pope Leo XIV appeals to protect migrant minors

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV called on everyone to take responsibility for protecting migrant children and adolescents during a general audience on September 23. The Pope's appeal comes ahead of the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees, which is scheduled for September 27.

Addressing the theme "Even if it is just one child," the Pope condemned the violence, torture, and exploitation that young people often face on migration routes, noting that many lose their lives during these journeys. He urged people to feel personally involved in the lives of these minors, stating they must always receive protection and assistance.
