First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV has allocated funds to provide scholarships for Christian students in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. Through the Dicastery for the Eastern Churches, the Pope will cover the annual costs of school and university fees for children, adolescents, and young adults from families in need.

The Holy See announced the pastoral project during an audience with the Synod of Bishops of the Melkite Greek Catholic Church of Antioch. The funding is intended to support families facing the consequences of long-term conflict and instability in these countries.
