Pope Leo XIV appeals for protection of migrant minors

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV called for the protection and assistance of migrant children and adolescents during a general audience. Speaking ahead of the 112th World Day of Migrants and Refugees on September 27, the Pope stated that young people are particularly vulnerable and frequently face torture, exploitation, and violence while traveling migration routes. He noted that many lose their lives during these journeys.

The Pope urged everyone to take responsibility and feel personally involved in the lives of these minors. During his address, he also welcomed pilgrims from the Diocese of Rimini and Bishop Nicolò Anselmi, noting it has been one month since his pastoral visit to their region.
