Pope Leo XIV celebrated Mass for 700,000 people at the Place de la Concorde in central Paris. During his homily, the Pope said that Jesus quenches the thirst found in every human heart, according to Catholic World News.

The gathering stretched along the Champs-Élysées, passing landmarks such as the Louvre and the Eiffel Tower. Before the Mass began, large screens displayed aerial footage of the crowd, according to Father Peter Wygnanski of the Diocese of East Anglia. This event took place during the second day of the Pope's visit to France, which also included meetings with migrants, a visit to the national synodal assembly, and prayer at the Grotto of the Apparitions in Lourdes.
