Pope Leo XIV to French bishops: "Do not tire of proclaiming the Gospel"

First source report

Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV told French bishops during a meeting in Lourdes to continue proclaiming the Gospel despite difficulties and errors. Addressing the bishops at their plenary assembly, the Pope called for a new missionary movement centered on Christ, caring for young people, strengthening families, and maintaining unity within the Catholic community.

The Pope encouraged the bishops to use France's spiritual heritage to meet modern challenges. He suggested a shared roadmap to make Jesus Christ known and loved with passion. He also noted that the bishops' choice to meet in Lourdes places the Church in France under the protection of the Virgin Mary.
