Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV left Gemelli Hospital on Saturday afternoon following a lung operation performed earlier in the week. Doctors cleared him for discharge after blood tests and a chest X-ray conducted Saturday morning confirmed his clinical condition allowed him to return to the Vatican.

Before leaving the hospital, the Pope celebrated a mass in a dedicated prayer room on the tenth floor. He has since returned to the papal apartments in Vatican City.

The Holy See Press Office stated that the Pope is scheduled to lead the Angelus prayer from the window of the Apostolic Palace this Sunday, October 18.
