Pope Leo XIV wrote a letter to mark the 300th anniversary of the canonization of St. Turibius de Mogrovejo.

The Pope stated that a bishop's duty is to pass on clear teaching rather than personal opinions, especially when many voices claim authority over the consciences of the faithful. He noted that bishops do not teach their own doctrines but instead guard, deepen, and explain the faith of the Church to those in their care.
