Catholic IntelligenceUpdated 1 min read

Pope Leo XIV is scheduled to speak at the Robert Schuman Congress Center in Metz on Monday, September 28, during a gathering titled "At the roots of Europe for peace and unity." The Pope will deliver a speech regarding the vocation and future of the European continent.

Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline, the archbishop of Marseille and president of the French Bishops' Conference, welcomed the Pope to the event. During his remarks, Cardinal Aveline spoke about the history of reconciliation between European nations and the Christian roots of the continent, urging Europe to share a message of peace globally.

The French President joined the gathering in Metz and invited fellow European leaders to attend. Cardinal Aveline noted that Metz was selected for the papal visit because the location allows for discussions on war, peace, Europe, and reconciliation.
