Pope Leo XIV to release new edition of YouCat: Love Forever

Pope Leo XIV will release a new edition of the YouCat catechism titled Love Forever in November. The publication is intended for young people preparing for marriage.

In the prologue to the new edition, the pope describes human love as a decision, a journey, and a lifelong covenant rather than a fleeting feeling. He writes that the desire for enduring love is a sign that people were created for love. The pope explains that God can transform human love, providing the capacity to love through service and forgiveness.

He notes that while romantic attraction may be sudden, a relationship reflecting God's love requires a profound commitment to the other person. According to the pope, solid relationships are built on mutual trust and a desire to love as Christ loved, prioritizing service over personal gain.

The first edition of this catechism was published in May 2025, one week after the death of Pope Francis.
